Become an OASIS Staff Member

OASIS is currently in the process of locating, interviewing, and accepting new female residential staff. We are looking for young women (preferably college graduates) who feel a unique call to working in residential/community living settings and with at-risk women 18 years and older. Applicants must evidence a mature and sincere faith in Christ, must be willing to make a minimum 12 month commitment to OASIS, must be willing to raise their own missionary salary support, must be actively engaged in the life of a Christian church or fellowship, and must be able to articulate their faith. Training or professional experience working with at-risk young women preferred, but not necessary. Applicants, once accepted, will be under a voluntary contractual agreement with the OASIS Ministry for their ministry services. This ministry covenant can be broken by both parties at any time and for any reason.

OASIS assumes full responsibility for training and equipping its staff for their ministry within the OASIS community. Staff will undergo a 30 day orientation/training period with other residential staff once aceepted. Staff members (called House Life Coordinators) are called to a high standard of moral and personal excellence both in their professional and private lives. What is OASIS?

OASIS is a Christian ministry dedicated to helping at-risk women in our community. These women are at-risk for domestic violence, unwed pregnancies, homelessness, and incarceration. OASIS is a residential community dedicated to providing women with the necessary environment for successful life change by equipping them with practical tools for living healthy, productive, and meaningful lives.

We work with our residents on achieving their personal, vocational, and life goals. Our hope is that they will also learn to engage in and cultivate a spiritual life by becoming an active member of a local faith community. Our holistic approach to ministry means every aspect of their lives is closely examined and goals are established to help them experience real and lasting change. Our staff works closely with residents inspiring them with the hope, encouragement, and accountability needed for lasting change to be a reality.

(OASIS is an affiliate ministry of the Mulberry Street UMC on the web at www.mulberryumc.org).
